You can permanently delete your MuslimTasker account at any time. This page explains how, what gets removed, and the small set of records we are required by law to keep.
This page is for the MuslimTasker mobile app and muslimtasker.com (together, the "Service"), operated by Bayti LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. For more on how we handle data generally, see our Privacy Policy.
01About this page
You have two ways to delete your account:
- From inside the app — fastest, finishes in under a minute. See Section 2.
- By email — if you can no longer sign in, or you'd rather have a human handle it. See Section 3.
Either path produces the same result: we delete or anonymize the personal data tied to your account, except for a narrow set of records the law requires us to retain (Section 5).
02Delete from inside the app
Both customers and taskers follow the same flow:
- Open the MuslimTasker app and sign in.
- Tap the Account tab in the bottom bar.
- Scroll to the Delete your account card and tap Delete my account.
- Type the word
DELETEinto the confirmation field. - Tap Delete forever. You'll be signed out automatically.
That's it — your account is gone. You don't need to do anything else.
If the Delete my account button doesn't appear, make sure you're running the latest version of the app from the App Store or Google Play. If it still doesn't appear, use the email path in Section 3.
03Request deletion by email
If you can't sign in (forgotten password, lost access to your phone, account was suspended), email us and we'll take care of it manually:
- Send to: support@muslimtasker.com
- Subject line: "Delete my MuslimTasker account"
- From the email address registered to your account. If you no longer have access to that email, include enough information for us to verify identity (full name, approximate signup date, last city you used the app in).
We respond within 5 business days, and complete deletion within 30 days of receiving a verified request. For users in California (CCPA/CPRA), we may extend this to 45 days as permitted by law and will tell you if we do.
04What gets deleted
Once your deletion is processed, we permanently remove or anonymize the following data tied to your account:
- Your name, email address, and profile photo.
- Your password and any sign-in tokens.
- Your service area (for taskers) or saved service addresses (for customers).
- Your push notification token.
- Your chat messages tied to jobs (anonymized — replaced with a placeholder so the other party still sees they messaged "a former user").
- Your profile bio, certifications, and uploaded service documents (for taskers).
- Your ratings and reviews are detached from your identity and replaced with "Former user."
You will no longer be able to sign in. Push notifications stop. Your profile no longer appears to other users.
05What we have to retain (and why)
A few categories of data must be kept after account deletion to satisfy US tax law, anti-fraud rules, and Stripe's own compliance obligations. These records are de-identified where possible — i.e., your name and email are removed and replaced with an internal reference number, so the records exist for accounting purposes but are no longer linked to you as a person.

06Open jobs and pending money
To protect both customers and taskers, we ask you to wrap up any active business before deleting your account:
- Customers with an active booking: cancel or complete the job first. Funds held in escrow for an open job will be processed according to our Terms of Service — the deletion request does not by itself release or refund money tied to a disputed or in-progress job.
- Taskers with pending payouts: payouts already on their way through Stripe will still arrive in your connected bank account. New job claims become impossible the moment your account is deleted.
- Open disputes on either side will be resolved by our team with the information already on file. We may need to email you while the dispute is open.

07Re-creating an account
You're welcome back any time. After deletion, you can sign up again with the same email address — but the new account starts fresh: no past jobs, no past ratings, and (for taskers) verification has to be redone.
