Welcome to MuslimTasker. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Bayti LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("MuslimTasker," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the MuslimTasker mobile app or muslimtasker.com (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms.
If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
01What MuslimTasker is
MuslimTasker is an online marketplace that connects customers who need home or emergency services (such as plumbing, cleaning, handyman work, and similar tasks) with independent taskers who offer those services.
While our community is Muslim-oriented, we do not require proof of religion and we do not collect religious data about users.
02Eligibility
To use MuslimTasker, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
- Provide accurate registration information.
- Not be barred from using the Service under applicable law or under prior MuslimTasker action.
Taskers must additionally hold any licenses, permits, insurance, or certifications required by law to perform the services they offer.
03Accounts
3.1 Your account
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials confidential.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Providing and maintaining accurate, current, and complete information.
Notify us immediately at support@muslimtasker.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
3.2 Verification
We may verify your identity through Stripe Identity, uploaded documents, or other means. You authorize us to use the information you provide for these purposes.
04Customer responsibilities
As a customer, you agree to:
- Provide accurate job information (scope, location, access instructions, safety hazards).
- Be present or make the service location reasonably accessible at the scheduled time.
- Pay the agreed-upon price, including any deposit, service fee, and taxes.
- Treat taskers with respect and not discriminate against taskers on any legally protected basis.
- Review the completed work within the 24-hour confirmation window (see Section 6).
05Tasker responsibilities
As a tasker, you agree to:
- Hold and maintain any licenses, permits, and insurance required by law for the work you offer.
- Perform services in a professional, competent, and lawful manner.
- Show up on time, communicate clearly, and complete work as described.
- Not subcontract a job without the customer's consent.
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws — including tax obligations on your earnings.
- Carry appropriate tools and equipment, follow safety standards, and not damage the customer's property.
- Treat customers with respect and not discriminate on any legally protected basis.
- Accept that you are an independent contractor, not an employee of MuslimTasker.
You are solely responsible for the quality, safety, and legality of the services you provide.
06Payments
6.1 How payments work
MuslimTasker uses Stripe and Stripe Connect to handle payments:
- When a customer books a job, MuslimTasker captures a deposit via Stripe.
- After the tasker marks the job complete, a 24-hour auto-confirmation window begins.
- If the customer does not dispute the job within 24 hours, the payment is automatically released to the tasker (minus platform fees) through Stripe Connect.
- If the customer disputes within 24 hours, the funds are held pending dispute resolution (see Section 7).
6.2 Platform fees
MuslimTasker charges the following fees on every completed job, both paid by the tasker and deducted from the tasker's payout — the customer pays only the posted job price plus any applicable taxes:
- A 15% platform fee on the job total.
- A 3% payment processing fee on the job total (covering Stripe's card-processing costs).
Fees are displayed to the tasker before they accept a job. We may change fees from time to time with at least 14 days' notice.
6.3 Refunds
Refunds are available if:
- The tasker does not show up or cancels.
- The tasker fails to substantially complete the agreed work.
- The customer raises a valid dispute within the 24-hour window and we determine a refund is warranted.
Refunds are processed via Stripe to the original payment method and typically settle within 5–10 business days.
6.4 Taxes
Taskers are responsible for reporting and paying income tax on earnings received through the Service. Where required, we (or Stripe) will issue tax forms (e.g., Form 1099-K in the US).
07Dispute resolution between customers and taskers
We want disputes resolved fairly and quickly. The order of operations is:
- In-app dispute. Open a dispute in the MuslimTasker app within 24 hours of job completion. Provide photos, messages, and any relevant evidence. We will review and issue a decision (typically within 5 business days).
- Stripe chargeback. If you are not satisfied with our decision, you may pursue a chargeback directly through your card issuer via Stripe.
- Arbitration. If the dispute still is not resolved, it is subject to the arbitration clause in Section 15.
MuslimTasker's role in disputes is that of a neutral facilitator. We are not a party to the service contract between the customer and the tasker.
08Prohibited conduct
You may not, and may not permit others to:
- Use the Service for any illegal, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
- Book or offer services that violate any law (e.g., unlicensed electrical work where licensure is required).
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against another user.
- Circumvent the platform — e.g., taking jobs off-platform after being matched through MuslimTasker.
- Submit false identity documents, fake reviews, or misleading listings.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service.
- Use the Service to transmit malware, spam, or phishing content.
- Share another person's private information without consent.
- Use the Service while impersonating someone else.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules (see Section 13).
09Intellectual property
The MuslimTasker name, logo, app, and website — including all software, text, design, and content we create — are owned by Bayti LLC and protected by intellectual property laws.
You keep ownership of content you upload (job photos, reviews, profile photos). By uploading, you grant MuslimTasker a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and use that content to operate and promote the Service.
10Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MuslimTasker disclaims all warranties — express, implied, or statutory — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not warrant the quality, safety, legality, or reliability of any tasker's work, nor the accuracy of any listing, review, or user-provided information. We are not a party to the agreement between a customer and a tasker.
You use the Service at your own risk.
11Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- MuslimTasker will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill — even if advised of the possibility.
- MuslimTasker's total cumulative liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees you paid to MuslimTasker in the 6 months before the claim, or (b) USD 100.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, in which case they apply to the maximum extent permitted.
12Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MuslimTasker, its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of the Service.
- Your breach of these Terms.
- Services you provide or receive through the Service.
- Your violation of any law or third-party right (including intellectual property, privacy, or property rights).
13Termination
13.1 By you
You may terminate your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account or by emailing support@muslimtasker.com.
13.2 By us
We may suspend or terminate your account — with or without notice — if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for MuslimTasker, or engaged in fraudulent or harmful conduct.
13.3 Effect of termination
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive — including Sections 9 (IP), 10 (Disclaimers), 11 (Liability), 12 (Indemnification), 14 (Governing Law), and 15 (Arbitration).
Pending jobs and payouts will be handled according to the payments and dispute-resolution rules above.
14Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to Section 15 (Arbitration), any court proceeding must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
15Arbitration and class action waiver
15.1 Binding arbitration
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its applicable Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration will be held in Wilmington, Delaware or conducted remotely, at the arbitrator's discretion. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
15.2 Class action waiver
You and MuslimTasker agree that each may bring claims only on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, consolidated, or representative action. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not preside over any form of class proceeding.
15.3 Opt-out
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@muslimtasker.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Include your name, email, and a clear statement that you opt out.
15.4 Exceptions
Either party may bring small-claims court actions, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property infringement or unauthorized access to the Service.
16Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify you by email and/or in-app notice at least 7 days before the change takes effect (where feasible).
Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
17Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and MuslimTasker regarding the Service.
- Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Relationship. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint-venture relationship between you and MuslimTasker.
