MuslimTasker ("MuslimTasker," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Bayti LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the MuslimTasker mobile app or visit muslimtasker.com (together, the "Service"), why we collect it, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
We built MuslimTasker to connect customers with service providers ("taskers") for home and emergency tasks such as plumbing, cleaning, and similar services. Although MuslimTasker is Muslim-oriented, we do not collect religious data about you. If something in this policy is unclear, email us at support@muslimtasker.com.
01Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to three types of users:
- Customers who request services through the app.
- Taskers who offer services through the app.
- Admins and staff acting on behalf of MuslimTasker.
The Service is intended for users who are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. See Section 9 for details.

2.2 Information collected automatically

- Coarse / approximate location — used for ranking nearby taskers and showing relevant jobs.
- Device ID and push notification token — used to send push notifications via Expo Push.
- Usage analytics — pages viewed, features used, crashes, approximate session length.
- Log data — IP address, app version, OS version, timestamps.
2.3 Information from third parties
- Stripe may return verification results, payout status, and limited identity data after running KYC checks.
- Other users — for example, ratings and reviews from customers about taskers and vice versa.
We do not purchase personal data from data brokers.
03How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and operate your account.
- Match customers with nearby taskers.
- Process payments, deposits, payouts, refunds, and disputes.

04How long we keep your information
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account profile (email, name, phone) | While your account is active, plus up to 24 months after deletion for fraud prevention and legal compliance |

| Job history and messages | 7 years after the job is closed, for tax, accounting, and dispute purposes |
| Payment records | 7 years, to satisfy US tax and financial record-keeping obligations |

If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize data that we are not legally required to retain (see Section 7).
05Who we share information with
We share information only with:
5.1 Service providers we use to run MuslimTasker
| Provider | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe (Stripe Payments, Stripe Connect, Stripe Identity) | Payment processing, payouts to taskers, identity verification | Name, email, payment details, ID documents, payout info |
| AWS S3 (Amazon Web Services, US regions) | Storing uploaded files (profile photos, job photos, certifications, ID documents in transit) | Uploaded files and associated metadata |
| Expo Push (Expo Application Services) | Delivering push notifications | Device push token, notification content |
| Sentry (conditional) | Crash and error monitoring | Stack traces, device info, anonymized user ID |
Each of these providers is contractually required to handle your data only for the purposes we specify.
5.2 Other users
- Customers and taskers see each other's name, profile photo, rating, and relevant job information.
- Customers see a tasker's approximate location; taskers see the customer's precise job address once a booking is confirmed.
5.3 Legal and safety
We may share information when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or property.
5.4 Business transfers
If MuslimTasker is acquired, merged, or sells assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
06Cookies and SDKs
The MuslimTasker mobile app does not use browser cookies. It does use the following SDKs and services:
- Stripe SDK — for collecting payment and identity information securely.
- Expo Push — for push notification delivery.
- AWS S3 SDK — for file uploads.
- Sentry SDK (conditional) — only in builds where error monitoring is enabled.
The muslimtasker.com website uses only essential cookies for session management and security. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
07Your rights and choices
Regardless of where you live, you can:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Delete your account and associated personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Export a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Opt out of push notifications in your device settings.

7.1 GDPR (EU, EEA, UK users)
If you are in the EU, EEA, or UK, you have additional rights under the GDPR: right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and portability; right to object to processing based on legitimate interests; right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Our legal bases are: contract performance (to provide the Service), legitimate interests (fraud prevention, product improvement), legal obligation (tax, accounting), and consent (for optional features like push notifications).
7.2 CCPA / CPRA (California users)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising), and be free from discrimination for exercising these rights.
7.3 How to exercise your rights
Email support@muslimtasker.com from the address associated with your account, or use the in-app Settings → Privacy → Data Requests option. We will respond within 30 days (or 45 days for CCPA requests, extendable as permitted by law).
08Data residency and international transfers
MuslimTasker is operated from the United States, and our primary data storage (AWS S3, our databases, Stripe's US infrastructure) is in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, you understand that your data will be transferred to and processed in the US.
For EU/EEA/UK users, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (and equivalent mechanisms) with our sub-processors where applicable.
09Children
The Service is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, contact support@muslimtasker.com and we will delete it.
10Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — TLS in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive data, least-privilege access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we discover a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you by email and/or in-app notice at least 7 days before the change takes effect (where feasible).
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
